About the Doctor

Dr. Kim is a general surgeon with fellowship-training in laparoscopic surgery. When possible, Dr. Kim employs a minimally-invasive approach to abdominal operations to reduce pain and scars. In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Kim helps to direct the resident core surgical science curriculum and has been recognized as the Teacher of the Year in 2008 for her outstanding commitment to the resident education. Dr. Kim also has a special interest in global missions and international health and has traveled to Peru, Ecuador and Nigeria to perform surgeries. In 2010, Dr. Kim founded the Surgical Mission Fund to help fund resident participation on surgical missions trips.
