As the Chief physician assistant at St. Luke’s Cardiothoracic Surgery Section since 2000, Jackie, along with Mairead Casey, PAC, have developed one of the most extensive surgical databases anywhere in the world in coordination with the NYS Dept of Health and the Society of Thoracic Surgeons. In addition to the usual critical care, patient education and first assistant roles in the O.R., she specializes in endoscopic vein harvesting and radial artery harvesting. Additionally, she is involved in several clinical research projects.
Jackie’s personal interest and research focus are in the areas of Critical Care Nutrition and wound infection prevention in cardiac surgery patients. She has extensive experience in training and mentoring other health care workers and physician assistants and organizes all the meeting and conferences of the section.
